Warmer Than Alaska

Well today we had classes even though practically every other school and university in Ohio closed.

To start my Tuesdays off I usually go to Ashley's room to work on calculus. Today we had a problem that took what seemed like forever, 20 minutes, and got to the end and my answer was close to the books answer, but still wrong. I had made a mistake all the way at the top of the page and had to erase all my work that took up a whole page and start over.

I was a little frustrated and annoyed.

Ashley was having a hard time too, but she made the work bearable as she kept putting her head on her paper and getting lead all over her face.

To try and cheer all the students up for not giving us the day off, this is what the school sent us...

A Whole Lot

So I decided to help Ashley with putting the whip cream on her piece of pie and I obviously failed. I think I might have put a little too much on. It was a brand new can, so I was just breaking it in.

We were all dying of laughter as we sat down at the table and as Ashley and I walked back to the table.

After a long pre-vet meeting I headed to the Haven to try on my dress that came in the mail. It was beautiful and everyone in the Haven loved it! I did too!

Only we have a problem...look in the mirror.

Cassie said that she can fix it up and that we could try doing a corset look to the back, the look of the back of the dresses that we tried on the other weekend. So right now we are going to cross our fingers and are praying that the other dress that is coming in the mail fits, because all of us love it! Cassie said that she might cry if it doesn't fit and I think I might too:(

With the disappointment of the dress not fitting I went across the street to The Village to bring Marie, the RA, some hot chocolate because she was on duty. While she did her rounds of campus I went and hung out with the boys in Ryan's lounge. We were playing with these two horse shoes that were attached to each other by chains and then a small metal ring was around the chain. It looked physically impossible to get the ring off of the horse shoes, but we managed to get it after awhile.

A Change of Pace

Sunday I went for a walk around campus with a girl from my floor and checked out the townhouses. They have quite a nice view of the soccer field when soccer is in season.

They look like mini apartments!

Day of Competition

Saturday afternoon I got to eat some food with Kai before we headed over to the track meet for the afternoon. I got to see 2 out of 3 of her races and she came in first for all of them! Apparently in her 4x400 relay her team broke the school record! I was so proud of her!

Away she goes...

After cheering on our track team I headed to the Croy Gymnasium to cheer on our Findlay Men's Basketball Team with Sarah.

I don't think we will have too big of an issue winning this game.

And the play of the night; we turned over the ball and Lake Erie started to fumble it as it went free. John, dove for the ball and I mean dove for the ball as we gained the ball back. John threw it to Dylan who then went to the basket one on one and made the dunk.

Mad house as we all struggle to get the ball in our possession.

We ended up winning 74-49! The next game is this Thursday and we are adding a little twist. Thursday night is called Silent Night as the crowd will be silent until the tenth UF point is scored and then the crowd is unleashed. Also, going on before the game is the winter sports pep rally that will have free food, prizes and games leading up until tip off.

Saturday Morning

Stayed in Jenise's room Friday night on her couch and went into the bedroom and found this...Can you guess which side is Cassie's.
Yep that's right the side with all the color.
As I walked to the dining hall for a late breakfast I had an amazing view and enjoyed the longer walk to the dining hall in the brisk air.

Prep for Game Day

Tomorrow Kai and a bunch of other people I know have a track meet so I was jokingly saying I would make Kai a poster and bring it to the meet. She loved the idea so I wanted to do one so I didn't disappoint her. This is what I came up with...

Not only is there a track meet, but also a basketball game!
Look at that wind chill and wind speed

Art Show

This is what the weather consisted of for classes today. Nothing like walking from class to class with this.

Not bad for a dining hall, the clam chowder tasted rather good and hit the spot.

For my digital photography class we went to a faculty art show on campus. It was kind of interesting, but nothing big.

My professor took this photo and I am almost certain that this is a dirt mound. I can probably tell you who made it too; one that I learned about in History of Ohio.

A little confused at what this is supposed to be.

Game Night

Last night went to cheer on our Oiler Men's basketball team. We were playing our biggest rival Ashland. Apparently they weren't enough of a rival. Greg, a senior, scored 34 points and tied with the school's record for the most 3 point shots and total points in one game. He was on FIRE!!!

And the final score was....

Derrick was a little tuckered out from all the motivation needed.
