Group Processing

So earlier this month I handed in my application to become an RA and so we had group processing this Saturday morning and interviews. Group Processing entailed being placed into random pre-decided groups and had to work together at different stations and through different activities. After being observed from 9-12 on our ability to work in a group, we had to schedule an interview time for either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. I scheduled my interview for the very first time, so that I wouldn't miss the very last home basketball game and senior night.
As a part of our interview we had to come up with three programs for our made up floor. Programs are activities that are either educational, service, social or a different category that you do as a residence hall. They are meant to help students meet new people and bond together as a floor. Our favorite program had to then have a poster made that you would post around the floor to invite your residents to the event.

All dressed up and classy for the group processing and then my interview.

I will hear by Thursday hopefully if I am a RA next semester and where I will be placed.

After interacting with people all day and an interview I headed straight to the boys game and cheered them on with Sarah, Emily, Alli and Anna as they took on Malone.

B-I-N-G-O

Friday night I went with Cassie, Haley, Sabreena, Sarah and Emily to the Findlay High School to help Missi Edwards put on a bingo game night. Missi Edwards, was the person who gave me my tour the first time I was at Findlay and sold me good on the school. I was a runner, which meant checking people's boards to make sure they had bingo and then handing out tickets if they did win. If you did win you got to pick from over 50 different desserts at the prize table.

Video Day #2

So on Thursday I wore the camera all day too. I had lab and animal handling and my photography class. I captured some really good videos on Thursday. During class we processed two lambs and then went to booster the kids in their pen. We had to capture all the kids, at least 20, and put them into a little pen and then inject them with BoSe and CDT in order of their tag number.
On the way back I captured a video of Bennett yelling/disciplining me for not wearing my seat belt. He could not look me in the eyes all day as he always looked at the camera to make sure that it was off. The one time he doesn't check it though I caught him and I got him good. I even got him singing to Carrie Underwood and saying that she's his home dog.

Walking TriPod

So the marketing and communication department of the university approached me to wear the GoPro camera and capture the life of a Findlay student. I accepted the offer, but now I don't know why, but it was still fun anyways. I wore the camera for two whole days!

Throwing Sheep

Tuesday, out at the barns, we were busy trimming sheep hooves again and throwing them. When I say throwing it doesn't mean literally throwing them as far as you can, but is the term given for when we lift them up and set them down on their butts. That way they just sit there as people trim the hooves and someone supports the sheep. Next to the sheep pen were the little kids.

Time for a little snuggle and nap under the heat lamp, not a bad idea.

Photo Shoot

For my photography class I had to research a photographer and then re-create their work. This is easier said than done when the professor gives you all artists that were from the 1970's or have photos of the Cuban revolution or wildlife. I would like to know where he thinks I'm going to find a cheetah in the middle of winter in Ohio. So I stuck with my specialty of athletics and action. I found this photo from one of the photographers and wanted to try and capture it, so I sent out a request to one of my friends, Cole.

Along with action, my photographer did a lot of portraits too, so Sarah jumped at the option to be my model for the afternoon.

I planned to meet Cole at the FRC to do photos and have him show us that he can actually touch the rim. You wouldn't think he can since he's just over 5 foot. We all had a great time during the photo shoot.

Anthony, Cole's friend, came along too and he hates getting his picture taken. The funny part was that he couldn't not smile the whole time he played basketball.

Can it Get Any Worse

So Sunday went down hill real fast and the week didn't look too promising either. Woke up and was headed to my room from Sarah's and realized that I had left both my IPod and phone in her room. Great! I have never managed to forget both of them. So I quickly changed in my room and then Sarah and I headed to church. When I took off my coat at church my shirt felt weird, when I looked down my shirt was on backwards. After church we headed to brunch and had a decent meal and then went back to Sarah's room to get some homework done.
For homework I had an English quiz, calculus II and photography homework. I got the English quiz done and then proceeded to complete my photography research and assignment. Our third assignment consists of researching a photographer from a list given and then re-create their work. Easier said than done, in my opinion, as I spent practically three hours looking for a photographer's work I could actually try and re-create. Most of the artists that my teacher gave us were from the 1970s, Cuban Revolution and wildlife. "Yeah let me just walk outside and get a picture of a cheetah racing by, someone in water or a beach horizon." Finally I found a photographer and got some pictures taken while the sun was still up.
Now it was time for dinner with very little accomplishment between meals. At dinner it got better as there was red raspberry pie and ice cream for dessert.

At the Dance

Sarah and I

Me, Haley, Jenise, Cassie and Sarah

Cassie and I

Jenise, Cassie and Haley

Got this photo just after they were done doing the above photo, it wasn't even posed.

Sarah and I

Sarah and I and an RA named Seth who was going to photo bomb, but Travis couldn't get the camera to work so we were awkwardly standing there for awhile as he tried to get the picture.

On our way

With all our makeup and hair done, we put our dresses on and were finally ready to head to the dance.

Cassie fixed my dress so that it would close and have a corset back. Well since I hadn't eaten anything all day we were able to zip the dress all the way up!! I could only take small breathes and couldn't slouch or bend over. Whatever, it fit!

Haley, Cassie's RA, and her boyfriend Travis

Sarah loved the chocolate fountain with the fresh pineapple and strawberries.

Preparations For the Night

Here we go as we all are starting to get ready for the Black Tie Affair. Everyone, ten people, are getting their hair curled.

I thought Cassie did a great job with my hair!

Before the dance we headed to Applebee's for dinner with our hair and makeup done.

Well all day I had been throwing up, so for dinner it I ordered water and a bowl of saltines. Hopefully, I can keep them down.

Came back from dinner and now it was time to curl Cassie's and Haley's hair and do touch ups.

Even got some nice nails
