Its A Little Cold...But Not Cold Enough

Sure it was cold in Findlay, but not cold enough to go and cheer on the Men's Oiler Basketball team the last night before I head home.
Look who I got to sit next to...

The one and only Derrick! It's kind of weird actually knowing who is in the costume, ssshhhhh I'm not suppose to know, and then seeing them act a little strange in the suite. I give him credit though and he does an amazing job!

Christmas in the Dorm

Morgan and I celebrated Christmas a little early in the dorm.

Opening presents and blaring Christmas music was not enough, so we made brownies! They were not as good as homemade ones, but were college brownies. We had to mix Greek yogurt in with the dry mix, because that was all someone on our floor had and we had to cook them in the microwave.

The brownies were not very chocolaty so I melted some Reese's to use as frosting. Lets just say that more of the reese's ended up on Morgan than the brownies. And I got to sit on Santa's lap!!!

Pumpkin Pie Anyone?

Before Cassie and I left to come back to campus after Thanksgiving, Cassie's mom gave her the rest of the pumpkin pie; which was like half the pan. Cassie did not want to take it back to campus, but her mom would not let her leave it. While on the way back we made a stop at a rest area and I forgot about the pie as I opened the back door and it came sliding out and landed on the ground. Whoops:) No harm was done though. The pan was still intact and the pie was unharmed.
One day I went into Cassie's room when she was not there and found the pie sitting by the fridge. I glanced at it and found it a little green. I told Cassie about this and then every time I would go into her room I would look at the pie to see how it was looking. It was gross, but cool all at the same time. When I was in there one night I was headed towards the door to leave when Cassie yelled at me "Are you going to check what you always check?" I wasn't sure what she was talking about at first and then remembered the pumpkin pie. This is what it looked like...

Delicious right???? It's so disgusting but cool at the same time. The pie lasted until the day we left for Christmas break so that the RAs would not have to deal with it and have to smell it.

Christmas Cookies

The school was so kind to give the bloggers a plate of Christmas cookies!! They looked delicious, but i did not eat all of them...that would be Morgan:) She had a steady flow going from her mouth to the plate.

Later that night I went to watch one of my friends play on the JV women's basketball team. They lost, but it was fun to watch.

It was so cold on campus that the drink in this cup froze all over the sidewalk.

Winter Wonderland

Was studying in Sarah's room at the Haven and took a quick break to climb the stairs and look out at campus. I loved this view even though it was just houses and a road.

I was glad that I was inside instead of outside in the negative degree weather.

Study Break

After a week straight of studying for my finals it was time for a break from the books. I had most of my finals the week before finals week and had my last one on Friday. So Friday night a group of friends and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and enjoy a break from studying.
There were a total of 8 of us at dinner; this is one half.

After dinner and with our bellies filled to the max I headed to "The Cube" with Sarah and Ashley and two other girls to go ice skating.

Puppy Love

We had a guest visitor in our dorm room a while ago that we were babysitting.

This is Molly, a 7 month old St. Bernard puppy. Morgan and I are friends with her owner and she was moving dorm rooms, so she brought along a friend.

Emergency Veterinary Medicine

At our last semester meeting of Pre-Vet club we had an emergency veterinarian come in and talk to us. She had a ton of pictures of some cases that she had on the nights she worked. I was so impressed and loved hearing the stories. I think I might want to be an emergency veterinarian!!

Cassette tape in a cat's intestines

At the barn on Monday I had an audience watching me put horses out. It was a little chilly I guess.

Chaos- Studying Non Stop

I have no clue how much I will be posting these next two weeks. Finals are next week and our final week of classes started today. This means cram as many grades into the grade book as possible. Already I have at least one quiz or test every day this week!! I don't even know when I will be studying for finals when I have all these tests and quizzes this week. The stress is building quickly.
Just so you know I am alive and well and probably have locked myself in a study room or working out. That is probably all of what I will be doing these next couple of weeks.

Glorious Food

Had some amazing pizza! There is nothing like Mark's pizza in Ohio:(

Some hot homemade apple cider tasted like heaven in my mouth. Great job Grandma at adding the spices!! I heard some boys had a role in making the cider too...great job!

Pumpkin Roll and Cheesecake can never compare to the Dining Hall's desserts! The dining hall's version of cheesecake is like vanilla pudding on a crust that tastes absolutely disgusting!!! This is most definitely the down side of growing up on local businesses. Ohio has none of them!

Christmas Time

Went to go get our Christmas tree Friday morning from Stokoe Farms.

While Scout and I were standing outside waiting for everyone to do some looking around in the store a yak came towards us. We stood there minding our own business as it came towards us and I thought it would be a great idea to see how Scout reacted; expose him to new things. Well apparently the yak hates dogs and was trying to get to Scout as he ran circles around me. So the yak would try to head but me as he was trying to get Scout. I was the middle man between the yak and Scout. Wonderful! Not only that, but the yak would not leave us alone and we turned into the center of attention.
I have missed this guy so much!

Sharing some Bruster's ice cream with my best bud.

Homeward Bound

Headed out two hours earlier than expected last Tuesday in efforts to beat the storm coming towards us. We did not hit the storm until around Greenwich, Ohio.

The roads were really  bad and it did not help that Cassie's tires were bald.

On our way to Cassie's house we counted 8 accidents and cars on the side of the road or in the median. Luckily we were not one of them.
Wednesday afternoon I was back home and took a well needed shopping trip to Wegmans!!!

Dental Work

We are learning to age horses based on their teeth in Equine Handling class.
