Game Day!!!

Look whose in the line up today; the fifth from the left!
It's Dallas sitting in the middle of the three in black next to the four in white. He got asked to play as one of the players got a concussion earlier in the week and it was unsure if he would be back to play in time by their next game on Thursday and Saturday.
It was a great game as we were either losing or up by 2 points for majority of the first half and most of the second. With ten minutes to go in the game we started to pull away as we ended up winning 62-50. It was a rough and poorly reffed game but there was a nice couple of dunks.
After the game it was dinner time and time to make a run to Walmart for groceries. We all ended up going to Penn Station and then to Walmart for food for the Super Bowl. Everyone was in Walmart! There were so many people shopping in Walmart as they are all probably stocking up on food and stuff before all the supposeable snow gets here.

#flipflopfriday

I don't know why, but Julie thought it would be a great idea to walk from the village to hendo to get food in flip flops on a 20 degree day. Our feet weren't too cold until we were on our way back to the vill.
And we cook...
Made cupcakes last night and a cookie brownie mix. Delicious! We started out watching spy kids and somehow ended up having a 90s country dance party.

Round Two

Round 2 of studying late into the night/early into the morning. This time we got the snacks going with goldfish, cheese and crackers, beef jerky and more.
We had left the library and went back to the village and the temperature had dropped from earlier in the day when the snow was melting and now it was frozen again. As findlay is so well known for its inability to plow and salt sidewalks and roads; the sidewalks were a little slippery. We had probably walked ten feet from the library and we're talking as Julie was on my left and Preston on my right. I am looking forward and then look to my left to look at Julie and she's not there; she's on the ground as she had slipped and literally went from standing and walking right next to me to laying flat on the ground. Both Preston and I look at Jukie and are like what are you doing? And start laughing so hard we can't even stand still to help her. Poor Julie! No worries she was fine with no bruises or broken bones, but we had some fun as we walked back ice scating on the pavement back to the vill. We would make Preston drag us as we grabbed onto his backpack or all link arms as we walked so if one fell all of us would fall. We laughed, yet again, our way back to the vill where we had some more fun as Preston tried to walk on one of the ottomans that is a circle. I have a video of it but it doesn't seem to want to load onto the blog:( I'll keep trying though:)

Being so studious....
We're starting to hit the wall

Long Haul

Got to meet the people going to Japan this summer as we met up and shared our stories, photos and advice with them.
Candace, Katy and I all telling our stories.
After having fun reminiscing it's time to get down to the nitty gritty and start studying for the four exams I had back to back today. This is how Preston and I feel about this repro exam...

Staying up till 3 studying and then waking up to take the exams can be a tad bit difficult. It may be difficult but we probably laugh and talk as much as we study. Wednesday night as we were leaving the AMU we were walking really fast and Preston was ahead of me was just getting through the door on the left. I was walking trying to catch up with him, as I had stopped to talk. As I was walking  quickly and went to push the door open it didn't and I ran right into the door full speed. What does Preston do? He starts laughing histaricly and I eventually get to that point as we laugh our way back to the village.

A Big Ball of Fun

When Julie and I get pizza for dinner...
At the clinic this week we had 4 neuters, a tooth removal and a spay. While surgeries are going on in the back room there are appointments are coming in and out of the front and exam rooms. One patient that came in was extra-extra large one. I was in the back room and I saw this huge nose over the counter and realized what it was and went up front to see him. Everyone meet Henry!

Too Much Cuteness

On Monday night I had barn duty and I got to see and play with these cuties for a little bit. They're not so small anymore, but they are so soft, cute and each have their own personalities.
Morgan and I were incharge of cleaning out the farrowing room and cleaning up all the poop and had to watch out for the piglets. The piglets were so cute as they were sleeping and not being the annoying noise makers that they can be. In the nursery there were these triplet goat kids that were so cute and extremely fluffy.

Serving the Community

Got up before dawn, at 5:45am on a Saturday, to volunteer as a worker at the mobile food pantry that was coming to campus. We got a load of food and had to unload it from the delivery truck and sort the food before giving it out.
There was a whole large box, the size of a watermelon box in the store, full of pudding. All of the pudding had to be bagged up so each family would get a bag of pudding.
There was more pudding in the box than I have had my entire life!
I got assigned the job of being incharge of the meat. Each family was given one piece of meat and could then choose from our "not so popular" section of meat if they wanted it. Somehow I was picked for this and trying to sell the different meat products to the people. I did quite well, if I do say so myself:) I got rid of all the stuff the director and other students thought would never go.
We had chicken and beef liver, pork and beef neck bones, pig hock, oxtail and tripe! For those who do not know, tripe
is cow stomach:)
After five hours out in the cold Julie and I finally got to thaw out as we reflected on the day as a group.
When you give Yacoub and Kyle your phone for 2 minutes this is what you get.

Finally Friday!

When you go to workout and majority of the baseball team is there on the treadmills...running in the sea of orange.
This is what most people think of organic chemistry. *note I did not take the picture or write the caption*
Ending the week with Coldstone ice cream and movie night!

Sweetness

Monday morning we baked out cinnamon rolls and they tasted delicious:)
My workout buddy has been gone since Tuesday and we were already missing each other by Sunday.
In repro we learned about the testes and how they decend into the scrotum. As always, Dr. Whitaker had a interactive and visual way to learn the process. The two balloons are the testes, the string is the gubernaculum that swells and grows as the testes are pulled down through the inguinal ring (the hoola hoop).
We failed at first to have a scrotum but found a trash bag to serve as a "translucent scrotum with smurf testes;" according to Dr. Whitaker.

Sunday Funday

Went to church with Morgan, Jake and Alli on campus yesterday and had a relaxing day. Went to workout with Karla and Jenise afterwards.
Alli and I made a trip to Walmart to get cinnamon rolls for breakfast today and we found a cookie box mix cinnamon roll flavored. We mixed up and made the cookies that night and they were gone instantly amongst four of us. They were so good!
While eating our cookies we somehow came across the conversation topic of pepper spray and who had and hadn't been sprayed before. The best story by far was Alisa's about her pepper spraying the maintenance guy. Alisa had to stay late for Christmas break because of cheering. I guess it was one of the first nights and everyone was gone and it was late at night; around 9:00. Alisa had finished her shower and gotten dressed and heard someone upstairs. She grabbed her pepper spray and was walkingn towards the stairs because everyone was gone so who would've upstairs? She ran into a man on the stairs and pepper sprayed him real good and then ran outside and got in her car. As she was sitting in her car security pulled up behind her and she got out and was thanking them for coming and that there was this guy in her house and she had just ran out. They replied with something along the lines of "yeah we know he just radioed us to come. It was the maintenance guy. We came to take him to the emergency room." I guess it's safe to say that the maintenance guy will not be coming to the house anytime soon or at least will announce himself when he comes in from now on.

GOilers

Got to cheer on our Findlay boys yesterday!
Not so much competition in this game as Tiffin had only 4 points majority of the first half. We stuck in there and came out with a win and had some amazing plays!

Got to bring back memories and favorite tastes of Japan as we went out and treated ourselves to sushi at a local sushi place. Not as good as in Japan, but it was delicious!

Alisa, Alli, Emma, myself and Kelley all enjoying the taste of Japan:)
Vegetarian roll and tuna roll
Tuna and crab sushi
Sushi wasn't enough so we also went to get some frozen yogurt at Iggy's, just the right way to top off the day.
