Pay Back

Last weekend Sarah went home while Ashley, Brock and I stayed on campus. So Sunday night, we decided to prank her room since she had left her keys with us.

Everything was wrapped, including the toilet.

Love My Room

After last night's disaster, of plastic wrap and toilet paper, someone had to clean up the room. So I got to work cleaning the room and getting laundry done. It looks so amazing and clean! I love my room!

Cleaned up my desk too. I love sitting at my desk and reading and looking at all these amazing people that are in my life. This is most definitely my happy spot on campus. Couldn't ask for more amazing people to be in my life. I miss and love them all.

They Are So Dead

After the game Sarah, Cassie, her roommate, and I watched a movie to help us get over the loss we just experienced. I came back to my room around 1:00 am to this.

Cassie, Jenise and Karla had pranked my room while I was at Walmart with Cassie and Sarah and watching the game. Sarah was in on it and new it was happening tonight and had to get me out of my room. Well that wasn't too difficult with our basketball team playing.

Everything was plastic wrapped; my suitcase, chair, trash, clothes, shoes, backpack and everything in my backpack!

Cupcake Face

Saturday at dinner there were red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, the best dessert ever. There were only five cupcakes left on the platter so Sarah and I each grabbed two. Cole loves red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, so we were rubbing it in his face that we had cupcakes and he didn't. Just as we had sent a photo Cole walked into the dining hall and then we decided that we should get the last cupcake so then he would have to come to us to get a cupcake. Literally, five minutes after we had taken all the cupcakes the staff brought out a whole new platter and Sarah and I looked at each other and said "we are not eating all those!" Cole came over to the dessert bar and grabbed the whole platter and walked towards us and stopped and talked. He decided to put the platter back though. After we were all done we saved one cupcake for one purpose. We were walking out of the dining hall and Cole was leaving too, so we stopped and talked and then I asked if Cole wanted the last cupcake. He made a funny face and said no. Anthony, his friend said he would take it. Cole yelled at me to not give it to him, because he was going to throw it in his face. At that moment I took the cupcake and smashed it on his face and tried to make it stick, but cupcakes are terrible for stuffing in someone's face. I walked to my door as Cole tried to throw snowballs at me, but he is terrible with aim.

After that adventure with Cole, Anthony and Dylon I headed to Sarah's room to watch the boys play. Our basketball team was competing for nationals in the NCAA DII in Missouri. Before the game started we went to Walmart and I got my chips and dip. Sat down with this delicious childhood snack and watched the game.
We had seven seconds left in the game and were at the foul line, winning by two. We needed to make both of the shots so that we could get good enough of a lead, but we were 1 for 2. The game started again with three seconds on the clock and the other team was coming down the court and chucked  the ball up on the arc line. Boom! He made it! NOOO!!! It was tied! I was screaming at the top of my lungs for Haley, the RA who was just in the room watching the game and left because she thought we had just won the game. At first I was screaming her name as I was in the room, but then I ran out into the hallway and was yelling her name. I had everyone coming out of their doors. Jenise was in Cassie's room and was panicking. She came down to Sarah's room and was like what's going on? She had thought she was going to have to call security, because someone was getting raped or something terrible. Whoops, I guess I will try and be quiet next time. Over time was over and we lost 83-89. Bummer!:(

Workout Buddies

On most days we work out around 4 and sometimes we are only in the cardio center or in the weight room too. If we happen to go into the weight room we will a sea of football guys working out with us. We always gawk at something every time. One guy was doing chest presses with 100lb dumb bells, another was doing bicep curls with 45lbs.

Totally Different

Monday night last week I had my Japan meeting and we went to the Rig, which is a student run cafe/restaurant. We played the game telephone, in Japanese, and enjoyed drawing on the chalkboard tables that they had. I'm certain that the Japanese have way better drawing skills than most Americans! I was blown away with how well they could draw stuff. It looked as if the photos had come from a cartoon.

Tomoya, in the red sweater, is an exchange student for one year here and is teaching us Japanese. He has amazing English! In the telephone game he taught us "I'm Home." Kathryn then asked how do you say "honey" so that she could say "honey I'm home!" Tomoya and the other Japan students were confused in why we wanted to say that and the significance of honey. We were trying to figure out where they were coming from and asked "if he had a girlfriend would he call her honey?" Tomoya made a disgusted face and asked "why would I call her honey? What does honey mean?" Nate then responded "don't you have pet names for your girlfriend? Like Sweety, Babe, Honey?" Tomoya was so confused and said no. We then proceeded to ask "what would you call your girlfriend then?" Tomoya responded "just by her first name."
Us: If you called her 'honey' what would she do?
Tomoya: She would be confused and upset.
We were all laughing so hard during this conversation.

Pi Day

March 14th is  national pi day, because pi in math equals 3.14. In the Haven Dallas and Haley had gotten their floor pie for pie day. I hadn't had any pie all day on pi day so I was all in for the pie. This is what started it all. As Sarah was getting her hair done in her room by Morgan, I made her smell the pie and next thing you know...

It's on her face. Yup, I just smashed pie in Sarah's face.

The delicious strawberry cream pie that ended up on everyone's face.

It was a pie war on Haven 2nd floor that night. With Haley, the RA, Dallas, the RD, Myself, Emily, Sarah, Morgan and Cassie all getting whipped cream or pie in their face.

Thrilling Thursday

We did surgeries again on Thursday and this time Bennett and I were dehorning, because last time Sarah and Emily dehorned and Bennett and I castrated. This time we had a cute and mouthy little girl. Sarah thoroughly enjoyed imitating her.

As I was removing the horn and at the final cut, the horn came flying forward with a bunch of blood. I closed my eyes and felt something wet and cool touch my face. When everyone was looking again, they all started laughing and saying that I had joined the ginger family. I had freckles, just a little red. We all had a great laugh.

In photo class, right after animal handling, I printed my final photos for a student art show and framed them too.

Japanese Dinner

Wednesday night I went to the Japanese house to eat some pizza with the Japanese students that are from Rakuno University in Japan. These are the students that we will be staying with in Japan when I go in May.
As a special treat the professor brought us some Japanese candy. There was chocolate covered peanuts and a strawberry hard candy that tasted like a dum dum.

Hiro, our professor then taught us how to signal come and good bye in Japan. To have someone come you make a motion with your hand as if you are digging and then to say go you shoo them off. Dr. Whitaker, the one in white, was having some difficulties and was extremely confused. Dr. Kerns is the one in green.

Below are some of the people that I ate dinner with from left to right is Yuichi, one of the exchange students from Rakuno, Chelsea, she went last year on the trip from Findlay, Katie, she is a sophomore and going this year with me.

We had to introduce ourselves to the group in Japanese and the Japanese students had to introduce themselves in English. From right to left, Kathryn, she is a sophomore going with me this year, Tomoya, an exchange student from Japan that is here for the year and is teaching us Japanese, in the back is Yurika, a Rakuno student here for three weeks, Candance, a junior going on the trip with me this year.

At the dinner there was a bunch of Japanese packaged foods that Tomoki and Tomoya kept passing my way and making me try. They couldn't wait to see my face and if I liked it. Their facial expressions were one that someone would give if they knew they were going to hate it and spit it out, so I was a little concerned. I ended up liking most of the food, my favorite being the smoked squid.

Windy and Wet Wednesday

Wednesday was suppose to be a day of snow and cold after we had that spring weather yesterday. I went about my day like a normal Wednesday morning and headed to my chemistry lecture at 9:00am after breakfast. Ten minutes into the class the two girls in front of me turn around and make a funny face at me like I had done something wrong, but I was just sitting there doing my normal thing of trying to entertain myself on the computer. Apparently, we had just received a text that classes were cancelled, yet we were sitting in class right now. Great, glad I got up and ready for a long day! We ended up having a snow day. Even though we didn't really need a snow day, it was still nice for the little break.
Here is what the weather looked like at 1:00 as I was on my way back from working out.

Totally Cool Tuesday

Sunny and 30 was the weather here in Ohio on Tuesday. Everyone was whipping out the shorts and t-shirts as it felt like spring. It was Bennett's turn to drive so we headed to the parking lot and we always enjoy sitting on the tailgate of his truck. This time there was no snow in the bed of the truck so I climbed on up to and sat on the cab. Too bad the only view I got from being up that high was of cars.

Saw a little baby calf enjoying the warm weather.

Today in Animal Handling class we are doing surgeries. We were assigned a goat kid and will be putting them under with xylazine as we dehorn and castrate them. My group is by far the best group EVER! With Bennett, Emily, Sarah and I

Bennett tattooing the ear of the kid

Our finished product, now all we have to do is wait for him to wake up.

As Ashley and I were trying to do Calc 2 homework Tuesday night, her boyfriend, Will, Sarah, Ashley and I all went to Dietsch's for some ice cream. I had the most amazing flavor ever! Chocolate pretzel caramel swirl; chocolate covered pretzel pieces with caramel swirls in vanilla ice cream. AMAZING!

New Horse

We finally switched horses on Monday this week and my new four legged friend is Miss Molly.

She's definitely different from Cam. While we were riding and getting the feel of our new horse I realized that she always holds her head low. So I asked about it and I guess when she was young she did something to her neck and now she has one less vertebrae and cannot raise her head much higher than her withers. This is definitely something to get used to as she continually lowers her head and it feels as if her nose is dragging on the ground.

Simply Crepes

Had my favorite dinner and lunch meals and now for breakfast at Simply Crepes; delicious!!!!

It was great enjoying the amazing food with my grandparents and the Burns'. I had a great time.

And the final day of Bruster's before I head back:(

Home Food

Home Sweet Home and the first food of the day is Bruster's. How awesome is it that they just opened the day I was headed home! Oh how I have missed real ice cream!!!

and real pizza... Ohio does not know how to make pizza.

Thursday is half off banana split day! How could I pass that up?!
