Showmanship

We just had a test and then on Wednesday we had a demo on showmanship. Here is Spencer showing us how to clip a horse correctly and then he showed us how to band the mane and forelock. My new horse for the rest of the semester is Moby! Moby is the horse in the picture above that we are clipping.

  2. The test went well, except we tested in an arena that was half the size we were used to riding in. It was a little difficult with all four of us loping at different speeds in a small arena. Clipping is where we trim, using electric clippers, the whiskers on the nose and around the eyes, extra hair that is used to drain water off of the body on the back of the legs/fetlock and for we trim the hair around the top of the hoof, cornet band.
