Sunday Funday

Sunday, my birthday, was the last day that the Japanese students were going to be with us. We went to the Columbus Zoo for a behind the scenes tour of their veterinary facilities and then visited the zoo for a little bit.
I forgot how a zoo actually looked; I haven't been to one in so long. The Columbus Zoo is way bigger than Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY. Columbus had their own water park to go along with the zoo, it was more like an amusement park without the rides. On our way there everyone surprised me with singing happy birthday, noise makers, crowns and presents.

Polar Bears are a lot bigger than I thought. They look like someone is dressed in a costume. Did you know that a polar bears feet are at least 9 inches wide?! Holy smokes, that's HUGE!

After the zoo we went to the Ohio Wildlife Center where we got to see two coyotes that were once owned by humans, one raised from a pup and the other trained to fight in dog fights. This one, below that was raised by humans, acted just like a dog and whined to us to pet him, but we weren't allowed to.

Kathryn had worn her nice boots, because she hadn't been planning on going for a mud hike, so she stood back where the mud wasn't so bad.

On the other hand, Tamaki was enjoying the mud. I have no clue what she was doing.

Everyone was a little tired and worn out from the day, I guess.
